York Wedding of Katrina and Richard

Kat and Richard were married on a gorgeous summers day at The Parsonage hotel just outside York. A lovely venue I have had the pleasure to shoot at several times. I first met with Kat and Richard about a year before their wedding and straight away the wedding plans sounded amazing and I was really pleased when they decided to book me and we started to plan.

Katrina stayed the night before her wedding at the hotel and had her hair and make up done at the hotel. When I arrived, everyone was in great spirits and the girls had the champagne flowing. There were tears and laughter all morning and a gorgeous wedding dress which always helps with getting fantastic dress photos.

My second photographer went to see Richard and the boys who were getting ready just down the road from the hotel. It’s always nice to be able to capture both sides of the prep and I know my couples love seeing the other getting ready after the wedding. It’s a part of the day that they don’t get to see.

As the ceremony began, there were some lovely looks from both Richard and Kat as they saw each other for the first time. I love seeing how couples react when they first see each other and the ceremony ended with us heading outside for photos. The weather was lovely and we had plenty of time to capture everything and more before the speeches started.

The speeches were fantastic and there were lots of laughs and the odd tear, exactly what I love from the speeches. The food seemed to go down well and we started to prepare for the reception and first dance. As the dancing started everyone seemed to be having fun and the first dance was lovely. Both Richard and Kat were amazing and we finished with one last shot outside before saying bye, already excited to start editing the images.

I wish Kat and Richard all the best for the future and thank them so much for having me along for their wedding day.
